Pune: Homeowner Held Responsible for Tenant Deaths in Fire Incident
PUNE : The Warje-Malwadi police have registered a case against a local homeowner following the tragic deaths of a father and son in a fire incident at a rented property.
The homeowner, identified as Nitin Barate, faces allegations of negligence after the blaze, which occurred between 1:15 am and 1:30 am on Wednesday, claimed the lives of Mohan Manik Mudawat and his son, Pappu Mohan Mudawat. The fire was reportedly triggered by an LPG cylinder explosion inside the home.
As per investigators, Barate had undertaken electrical work at the tin-roofed house but failed to ensure proper earthing. This lapse led to a short circuit, which initiated the fire. The structure reportedly lacked an alternate exit, leaving the tenants trapped inside.
Police officials stated that the short circuit, caused by the homeownerтАЩs careless installation, ultimately led to the cylinder blast, resulting in the deaths of the two residents.
