PUNE: Salim Sarang, the State Vice President of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), strongly condemned the controversial statement allegedly made by MLA Sangram Jagtap, which was perceived as anti-Muslim. Sarang demanded strict action against Jagtap from the party leadership.
His firm and clear stance has now been taken seriously by NCP’s National President, Ajit Pawar, who has assured that he will seek an explanation from Sangram Jagtap regarding the matter.
Responding to questions from the media, Ajit Pawar said, “The Nationalist Congress Party follows the secular ideology of Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Phule, Shahu Maharaj, and Dr. Ambedkar. Speaking against any religion is against our core values. I will personally ask Sangram Jagtap what exactly he said and why.”
This statement by Ajit Pawar makes it clear that Sarang’s demand is being taken seriously at the highest levels of the party. As a result of his bold and principled position, Salim Sarang has received widespread appreciation and congratulations from members of the Muslim community. Several religious and social organizations have praised Sarang, calling him a true leader who stands for justice and community rights. On social media too, Sarang has garnered massive support, with many applauding his courage and clarity.
